New Online Public Art Map and Signage Launched in York County

by | Apr 17, 2025

The Cultural Alliance of York County and Explore York, the official tourist promotion agency for York County, have installed new signage in Royal Square’s Mural Park to provide on-site direction to all of York County’s Public Art thanks to the new Public Art Map on York365.com. This signage is an extension of a collaborative project between the Cultural Alliance, Explore York, and YCEA/Trail Towns, with an overall goal of highlighting the extensive amount of public art and cultural assets which exist in York County.

The York County Public Art Map is an extension of the cultural event and artist platform, York365.com, and allows users to search for public art in specific locations, as well as specific styles of art. The map provides historical information on the art pieces, as well as a link to the artist who created them and their other works. Future plans for the public art map include more robust listing of artworks in Southern York County, Hanover, Dillsburg, and other towns in York County.

As a community resource, the Public Art Map depends on residents and artists to contribute to it. Anyone can create an account on York365.com and contribute information about public art in their neighborhood. For help with submitting artwork, or to submit additional information about pieces which are already listed, please contact Rita Whitney, Rita@culturalyork.org.
