York, PA – The Cultural Alliance of York County is pleased to announce the recipients of Welcoming Communities, Hanover. In partnership with Main Street Hanover, and supported by the William J. Warehime Foundation, the Welcoming Communities Grant program was created in 2023 to provide financial support to community events which create a welcoming and connected community for all in the greater Hanover area (Littlestown, New Oxford, Abbottstown, Spring Grove, Hanover). After being reviewed by a Hanover-based community panel, grants of up to $2,000 each were disbursed to 8 organizations for events happening May 2023-May 2024.
Following the success of the York City Welcoming Communities grant, the program was expanded in the Hanover Area in 2023. These focused funds create and expand access to cultural and arts experiences celebrating Hanover’s culture, history, and diversity as well as provide direct benefit to their local economy and businesses.
“Main Street Hanover is thrilled to work with the Cultural Alliance in bringing the Welcoming Communities program to the Hanover area;” Says Executive Director, Justine Trucksess, “The funds invested in these community events help to promote the vibrant and inclusive community of downtown and beyond.”
