2023 Artist Innovator Award Finalists

York, PA – As part of a National Arts and Humanities Month celebration, the Cultural Alliance of York County is pleased to announce the 7 finalists for the 2023 Artist Innovator Award. Two award winners will be chosen from the finalists to receive an unrestricted cash award of $10,000 each. This annual award propels innovation and celebrates the creative community who lives and works in York County, PA.

The 2023 Artist Innovator Award finalists are:

• Ian Carroll – Music
• Marcos Repolle – Film/Video
• Kate Brennan – Performing Arts
• Michael Dugger – Visual Art
• James Tompkins – Visual Art
• Justin Ruby – Visual Art
• Lizz Dawson – Literary

A panel of three, interdisciplinary artists will select the two winners from the finalists. The winners will be announced during the first week in November, and further celebrated at the Cultural Alliance Annual Meeting on Tuesday, November 28th at the Pullo Family Performing Arts Center.

Artists working in any medium and who live in York County were invited to create a profile of their work on the arts and culture website, www.York365.com. Profiles created by the deadline on August 31st were scored by peer reviewers from around the country. The finalists’ profiles and contact information, as well as many other talented artists from York County can all be found at www.york365.com.

The Cultural Alliance of York County will be soliciting feedback and hosting brainstorming sessions on ways that the Artist Innovator Award can better serve the community in 2024. Founded as a United Arts Fund in 1999, the Cultural Alliance’s annual campaign currently supports arts organizations and artists that are essential to arts and culture in our community. Over the past 22 years invested $12 million in cash and $2.5 million in in-kind support for the arts.
