York, PA – The Cultural Alliance of York County will present two unrestricted cash awards of $10,000 each to York County artists who demonstrate exemplary technical proficiency, artistic expression and innovation in their field. The “Artist Innovator Awards” are open to all types of artists, creatives and performers living in York County for at least 1 year, by creating a portfolio on www.York365.com.
The Artist Innovator Award was created to showcase the artistic excellence that exists in York County, and to demonstrate the valuable role that creatives play in our community. Whereas only one award was presented in 2020 to rap/hip hop musician Ambitious Caban (Ana Mercado), two, $10,000 awards will be presented annually beginning in October of 2021.
To be considered for the Artist Innovator Awards, artists may choose to enter their portfolios into 1 of 6 categories for adjudication: Music, Dance, Visual Arts, Literary Arts, Performing Arts, and Screen/Film. Six finalists for the awards will be selected by a nationwide panel of jurors, with two awardees then chosen from the six finalists.
The deadline for artists in York County to create a portfolio on York365.com and be considered for the prize is August 31st, 2021.
