New Board Directors starting a three-year term in 2024:
Dr. Andrew Barnes is the Dean of the School of the Arts, Communications, and Global Studies at York College of Pennsylvania. Before coming to York, he was the Dean of the School of Liberal Arts and Sciences at Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, NY, where his husband, David Foley, is the Chair of the Department of Interior Design. Dr. Barnes holds a Ph.D. in English Literature from Stony Brook University, and an M.F.A. in Creative Writing from Bennington College. He is also a weaver, and lives in York City.
Stephanie Benamor-Wentz, a graduate of Parsons, The New School for Design, is a marketing and design professional dedicated to her work in the nonprofit sector. She currently holds the role of Lead Communications Specialist at the UPMC Pinnacle Foundation, contributing to a dynamic team driving charitable efforts in support of vulnerable populations and UPMC in Central PA communities. Beyond her professional commitments, Stephanie serves as an adjunct professor at York College, where she imparts her knowledge of design to aspiring creatives. Additionally, she operates a freelance business, offering comprehensive services in branding, styled photography, and marketing and business consultation.
Justin M. Mann, Managing Director & Treasurer of Traditions Bank, is a seasoned banking professional with over 22 years of experience in the industry. He began his journey in banking after completing his bachelor’s degree in Accounting from York College of Pennsylvania. Aside from his impressive professional experience, Justin has many interests outside of banking. He’s a talented saxophonist and enjoys listening to an eclectic mix of music. He’s also an avid fan of college football, with the University of Tennessee being his favorite team.
Michael Molla has served as the president of Pennsylvania College of Art & Design since 2018. His time at PCA&D has been marked by powerful initiatives in forging partnerships in the community to advance the region and support creative enterprises and art and design education for the 21st century. Prior, for 27 years, he worked at Maryland Institute College of Art in Baltimore, MD, where he was Vice President for Strategic Initiatives. His legacy there was in strengthening the relationship between MICA and the City of Baltimore, including facilitating new urban initiatives to engage the community in support of the arts and expanding opportunities to city residents.
Founded as a United Arts Fund in 1999, the Cultural Alliance’s annual campaign currently supports arts organizations and artists that are essential to arts and culture in our community. Over the past 24 years invested $12 million in cash and $2.5 million in in-kind support for the arts. Through critical operational grants, the Cultural Alliance shines a spotlight on arts and culture in York County.
